RWM24: Our Home

In 2024, Refugee Week Malta invited everyone to reflect on the meaning of "home"—especially for those rebuilding their lives in a new country.

Amid Malta’s diverse cultural landscape, the festival highlighted the importance of shared spaces, cultural exchange, and the power of community.

 What We Explored

We reflected on what it means to belong, the stories we carry with us, and the homes we create together.

Our programme brought these ideas into public spaces—inviting connection through street performances for those who don’t usually attend the theatre, a community mural that brought colour and life to Gżira, and pop-up events in local gardens that invited passersby to join in.

 Festival Summary

 What We Found

The festival revealed that "home" is more than just a place—it’s the relationships we build and the spaces we nurture.

Home lives within us: in the bodies we inhabit, in those who support and care for us, and in the essential connection between our physical homes and the Earth itself.
