RWM22: Healing
“Healing” was the theme of Refugee Week Malta 2022 — a celebration of community, mutual care, and the human ability to start again.
In the launch year, we explored healing as individuals, as communities, and as a shared practice. We asked: how can we create spaces of sanctuary, where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported?

What We Explored
We imagined a world where care becomes our shared currency, where art creates sanctuary, and where even the simplest acts can support healing.
Through connection, creativity, and care, we looked at how healing can begin — especially for those who have been displaced, isolated, or harmed. Events became spaces for storytelling, trust-building, and imagining new ways of being together.

What We Found
We celebrated the strength it takes to start again, the power of small actions, and the deep need to belong.
Healing, we discovered, is not just recovery — it is a collective, ongoing process rooted in empathy, mutual care, and human connection.
